   One thing I would add, is that while we cannot purchase our salvation, once we accept His invitation we must repent. Repentance is necessary to salvation. One cannot accept His salvation without it. This word repentance is often overlooked, or glossed over. But repentance is a turning away from what you know is sin. If you decide you want to accept His offer, you must choose to put sin away from you, insofar as you know it is sin. Be sure, the Holy Spirit will tell you what sins you have, and over time you will come to recognize other sins. But a repentant heart is a necessity.
